Line Series: 2011-Present
Informed by the exploration of the body’s emotional and physical responses to the environment, Line captures ambiguity of the form through detailed gestures, floating parts and subtly longing figures. The bodies shift between destruction and actualization, by encountering nature, and the need for balance.

Iman Person is a multidisciplinary artist, and curator currently residing in Atlanta, GA. Her artistic practice serves as a tool to reframe ideas of consciousness and poses deeper questions around plant autonomy, and the formation of a new language to validate experiences of the every day “Urban Shaman.” To activate these concepts, she moves fluidly between sculpture, writing, performance and site-responsive installation. Within these mediums, Person incorporates plant collection, herbal spiritualism, and radionics to expand our senses, and create new realities between viewers, the work and environments.

In 2010 she received her B.F.A from Georgia State University and has exhibited her work throughout the United States, including The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) in Winston-Salem, Allcott Gallery at The University of North Carolina, and The Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis. Internationally, she has exhibited at Ionion Center for Art in Kefalonia, Greece and has performed at SoMA Art House in Berlin, Germany. She is a member of the Atlanta based collective, Dashboard Co-Op, is a 2011 Hambidge fellow and was a 2013-2014 Hughley fellow.
